Hooray!

My nose has reasserted its rightful purpose among my five senses!

I haven't been able to smell or taste anything for a week. I can smell a little bit now, and I could taste the cinnamon in the cinnamon roll I had for breakfast. (And I am so going to copy Marie's cinnamon roll recipe!)

And double hooray! I bought my plane ticket for Christmas. It's official, I'm going to Oregon. My last final ends at 2pm on the 18th of December and my flight is at 9pm that night. I'll spend that week with Gayle and Seth and hopefully the Hawkes will come down from Washington while I'm there. Ohh, maybe I'll see Enoch and Julie too! I hope so. Then Gayle, Seth and I will all drive from Oregon to Utah on Christmas Eve and spend another week in Utah. Yay!

Now that I can taste again, I need to go grocery shopping. When your taste buds are out of whack, it doesn't really matter what you eat. Marie made this lentil and artichoke soup the other day, but she didn't really like it, so she offered it to me. I tried it. It tasted fine to me, needed a little salt. But I'm not sure I'd like it now! All I could taste were the textures (if that makes any sense) and it filled me up so I didn't care what it tasted like.

I'm on Claritin right now which is working fine for my nose obviously, but I don't believe the box when it says non-drowsy! Or perhaps I react to Claritin non-drowsy like I do to Nyquil--the opposite of normal people. The one time I took Nyquil I had insomnia all night.
